SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The Master’s College women’s soccer team has proven at least one thing over the last three weeks: it can win at home.
Since their home opener on September 5, the 11th-ranked Lady Mustangs have won their last three contests at Reese Field by collectively outscoring their opponents 9-3.
TMC’s most recent victory came on Thursday afternoon where it delivered a 4-1 shellacking to the University of Antelope Valley. Notably, for the first time this season, the Lady Mustangs’ record sits at .500 (3-3-1).
Jasmine Parada put TMC on the board first by scoring in unassisted fashion at the 17:47 mark. Nine minutes later, Mackenzie Taylor scored off an assist from Taylor Rowden, giving the Lady Mustangs a 2-0 advantage at the 26:33 mark.
TMC’s lead carried into intermission when the Lady Mustangs outshot the Pioneers 7-3.
The Pioneers opened the second half with UVA’s Alexis Ramirez scoring an unassisted goal two minutes into action.
TMC’s Rowden responded to the Pioneers strike thirteen minutes later (59:15) by scoring an unassisted goal, giving TMC a 3-1 lead.
Vanessa Lourenco put the match away after scoring an assisted goal from Kelsey Kukaua.
Collectively, TMC outshot UAV 15-8
Now, the Lady Mustangs look to prove that they can win on the road when they travel to Irvine on Saturday to face former GSAC foe and now NCAA Division II opponent Concordia. Game time is set for 11:00 a.m.
