Starting Monday, Jan. 24, crews will begin construction of a new curb, gutter and sidewalk along portions of the east side of Sierra Highway, north of Soledad Canyon Road.
The project, which is anticipated to last until mid-March, will enhance pedestrian safety in the area. Affected segments include Sierra Highway from Racquet Court to Skyline Ranch Road, as well as the intersections of Sierra Highway and Scherzinger Lane and Sierra Highway and Adon Avenue.
Commuters are asked to be aware of scheduled lane closures and plan their routes accordingly. Traffic signs will be posted to inform motorists of upcoming lane closures. Residents are asked to reduce their speed through the construction zone.
One northbound lane on Sierra Highway will be closed between Racquet Court and Skyline Ranch Road beginning Jan. 24 through the duration of the project.
The Scherzinger Lane intersection at Sierra Highway will be closed from Jan. 24 through Feb. 4, while the Adon Avenue intersection will be closed at Sierra Highway from Feb. 7 through Feb. 18. Drivers can use Scherzinger Lane or Adon Avenue while the other is closed or use Tiffany Lane and Sarabande Lane as a detour.
The city of Santa Clarita thanks community members in advance for their understanding and support of this project. All measures will be taken to complete the project in a safe and timely manner. You know, there are two intersections of Scherzinger Lane and Sierra Highway. Which one do you mean? The one to the south of Skyline Ranch Rd., or the one to the north?
