[TRC] – The Outlets at Tejon, an upscale outlet retail destination opening in August, announced the selection of Brian P. Hassett to serve as the new center’s General Manager. Hassett brings with him more than 25 years of experience in the retail industry, with ten of those years focused on outlet retail.

Located on Interstate 5 between Los Angeles and Bakersfield, The Outlets at Tejon is well situated to serve shoppers throughout Southern and Central California. It has a high profile line up of tenants including the only current Pottery Barn outlet store in California, H&M, Coach, GAP, Banana Republic, J. Crew, Brooks Brothers, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Chico’s, White House/Black Market, and many more. A complete listing of stores can be found at TejonOutlets.com.

“Brian’s impressive tenure in the outlet shopping center industry speaks for itself,” said Hugh McMahon, Vice President of Commercial & Industrial Real Estate for Tejon Ranch Co. (NYSE:TRC). “His creativity, fresh ideas and knowledge of the retail industry have brought the centers he has overseen great success and provided consumers with a first-rate shopping experience. We’re thrilled to have him on board at The Outlets at Tejon.”

Hassett served for more than 10 years as the General Manager for the Camarillo Premium Outlets and its later addition, the Promenade at Camarillo Outlets. During his time at the Camarillo Premium Outlets, the center grew from 120 designer and name brand stores to 160, becoming the second largest center in the Premium Outlets portfolio and the largest outlet center on the West Coast with 14 million visitors annually.

“I am excited to lead the management team at The Outlets at Tejon,” says Hassett. “I look forward to making The Outlets at Tejon one of the leading shopping destinations in California and the premier shopping destination for savvy shoppers from Kern County and Northern Los Angeles County, and all those who travel north and south in California on I-5. I know people will be blown away by the variety of retailers and beautiful venue. It is my goal to give customers a great shopping experience.”

Previously a resident of Ventura County, Hassett worked extensively in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for Studio Channel Islands Art Center as treasurer and director of event sales. He was also an active member of the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce where he served as board member and Business Advocacy Committee chair; board member, vice chair and Resource Development Committee chair of the Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo; and an Advisory Committee member of Saving Lives Coalition of Camarillo. Having recently relocated to Bakersfield, Hassett is looking forward to becoming involved in the local community and getting to know his new hometown.

Developed by Tejon Ranch Co. and The Rockefeller Group, the 320,000-square-foot outlet center is located on Interstate 5, one of California’s most traveled highways and is easily accessible from Los Angeles, Bakersfield, Santa Clarita, the Antelope Valley and the San Fernando Valley. EB Development LLC and The Outlet Resource Group, LLC, two well known national outlet leasing and marketing consulting firms, are assisting in the development and roll-out of the new center.
