For the past four months, Trinity Classical Academy and the Imago Dei School’s fourth grade classes have been preparing for the annual Medieval Times and Renaissance Faire, happening this Friday, March 31 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the Celebration Center at Trinity Classical Academy.
Each of the 54 students were given a specific biographical figure from the time period with the assignment to write a monologue of their character and create a 2-4 minute presentation that includes transforming into the character for the entire Medieval Times and Renaissance Faire.
“The Medieval Times and Renaissance Faire is the perfect culmination of months of study, and gives them a unique historical perspective of that time, especially when they are able to interact with each other and the spectators in character,” explains Kevin Seitz, grammar school principal, Trinity Classical Academy.
During the morning’s presentations and while the students are completely immersed in their character, they will demonstrate dances from the time period, participate in fierce swordfights and give spectators a glimpse into what life was like from the perspective of a King all the way down to a serf.
