Thursdays@Newhall’s 10 by 10 variety night promises an exciting lineup of talent beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 5 at the Repertory East Playhouse.
The playhouse is located at 24266 Main Street.
Ten selected artists will take the stage on Thursday and perform a ten minute set. The evening will begin with The New Mexican, the one-man country blues band. Members of The New Mexican are a right foot on drums, a left foot on percussion, a left hand on slide guitar and banjo, a right hand on lead guitar and banjo, and a mouth on vocals and harmonica.
The night will continue with filmmaker Nicky Hawthorne and her short film “Diced.” Following Hawthorne will be filmmaker Miranda Sajdak with her short film “Snapshot.”
Then, 14-year-old musician Savannah Burrows will perform her unique blend of contemporary country and pop. Taking the stage after Burrows will be comedian Rob Banks, an Ohio-born observer with unique comparisons about everyday life.
Continuing with the entertainment, mentalist, Gabe Ableson, a former head monologue writer for the Late Show with David Letterman, will do a mind reading session with audience members.
Then, award-winning actor, comedian, writer and storyteller Sarah Taylor will share her stand-up, which was cultivated from years of performing on stages all over the world and regular appearances in popular televisions shows.
The next performer to take the stage will be musician Sean Hughes, performing his well-reviewed songs from his four albums. Then writer, documentarian, and storyteller Alex Stein will share spoken-word, stories and other pieces from an extensive portfolio of work. Rounding out the last performance of the evening will be comedian Samantha Ross.
