Mustang Ryan Bricker started the day with a bang, and Arizona Christian ended it by bringing Master’s firmly back to earth.
After Bricker’s walk-off home run in the opener, the Firestorm took Game 2 of Friday’s double-header 5-3 at TMU despite Mustang Josh Robison falling a double short of the cycle.
Robison’s second-inning home run was his team-leading sixth of the season, and it spotted TMU a 1-0 lead that lasted all of one inning until ACU plated three unearned runs in the third, spoiling Robert Winslow‘s otherwise solid outing.
Winslow struck out six and walked two in four innings in his first loss since March 31, 2017. He had won nine straight cisions, but allowed five runs (two earned) Friday.
Caleb Jaime pitched three scoreless innings in relief to keep TMU in the game. And down two runs in the bottom of the seventh, Preston White doubled. But the Mustangs left him at second base.
Master’s fell to 15-10 overall and 9-7 In Golden State Athletic Conference play.
Arizona Christian moved to 5-11 overall and 10-15 in GSAC.
