Newhall, Zone 6
Public Safety and Crime Prevention Info
Week of 1/20/2014 through 1/26/2014
A look back at the crimes reported in the Newhall area last week.
There were two packages reported stolen from doorsteps last week. One on Monday the 20th, from the 20900 block of Judah Lane. The other was on Wednesday the 22nd, from the 23500 block of Newhall Avenue. The packages had been delivered to the locations then left unattended while the victims were away.
An unattended package left on a doorstep creates an opportunity for a would-be thief to strike. Packages often contain a valuable prize for the thief and they are willing to take the risk even in the daylight. Try to arrange deliveries when you are home or have a friend or relative available to receive the delivery.
On Thursday the 16th, a bicycle was stolen from Hart High School during school hours. The bike was described as a red/black, “Hyper”, single speed, boys BMX. The handle bars are black with a skull sticker on them. There is also an “X-Games” sticker on the frame. The suspect was seen riding a bike, carrying the stolen bike on his back.
