WHAT: Jack’s Very BIG Music Benefit
WHERE: West Ranch High School Performing Arts Center, 26255 Valencia Blvd.
WHEN: Sunday, Nov. 24, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Local musical artists, including world class professionals and debuting young artists, come together in a musical tribute to little Jack (b. Aug. 30, 2008; d. July 30, 2012), who represents other children like him today diagnosed with DIPG – a pediatric brainstem cancer with a survival rate of less than 1 percent.
The music will be varied, from the classical section with Peter Marsh, violinist and a founder of Chamber Music America, playing Brahms and Haydn, and then Chopin, Veracini, Weiniawski, and Lalo from our fantastic young artists. A special performance from Center Stage Opera (www.centerstageopera.org) follows, continuing with contemporary songwriters and bands with Kyle Reynolds, Dave Fraser, Paul Trudeau, Remo Packer, Shawn Fabian, Jimmy Hoff, and more.
Come support our young artists and our own LA-local, world-class artists for a fantastic evening of music and fun.
We are pleased to be graced with the presence of the Miss Santa Clarita Pageant for our in-house activities during intermission, and facilitating our program. Delicious foods and refreshments from local vendors will be available for your enjoyment in the lobby, as well as an extraodinary raffle, silent auction, and exhibits of fine art, including works from contemporary-impressionist Zony Gordon and the “Art for Jack” gallery of professional and student art.
Event proceeds benefit the DIPG Research Fund at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
