Patricia Cochran, PLAINTIFF
The wife of a late O.J. Simpson defense attorney has filed a lawsuit against her son, alleging she was led to believe that she had purchased a home but was not given the title or deed.
On August 5, 2016, a lawsuit was filed on behalf of 77-year old Plaintiff, Patricia Cochran, in the Los Angeles/ Hill Street Branch of the California Superior Court.
Filed a week later, the lawsuit’s First Amended Complaint identifies names plaintiff’s son, Jonathan Cochran (son of the late O.J. Simpson defense attorney, Johnnie Cochran, Jr.). Jonathan’s wife, Cheryl Sneathern-Cochran was also named as a co-defendant party.
The lawsuit states Patricia Cochran seeks the title and deed to the Santa Clarita, Calif. home in which she currently resides and was led to believe she had purchased it from her son and daughter-in-law.

Escrow records reveal the all of the proceeds ($311,302.57) from the sale of her prior home were, with Cheryl Sneathern-Cochran’s assistance, wire-transferred to Jonathan Cochran’s personal bank account.
Causes of Action set forth within the lawsuit include: Elder Financial Abuse, Intentional Misrepresentation, False Promise and Breach of Oral Agreement. Besides legal fees and costs, additionally sought relief by Patricia Cochran includes Punitive Damages, Specific Performance and Imposition of Constructive Trust.
Patricia Cochran, previously a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department senior volunteer, was subsequently accepted as Senior Volunteer applicant with the California High Patrol in Newhall/ Saugus. Jonathan Cochran is a California Highway Patrol Officer (“Telecommunications Lieutenant”) currently on assignment at CHP headquarters in Sacramento, California.

Why is it that I read EVERY week about violent crime in the Jake’s Way area and the Sheriffs in Santa Clarita can’t stop it? It seems to me that if the Sheriffs inundated the area with police cars for one week the crime would stop. Certainly for the one week of police presence, buy I also feel that it would detour the criminals from coming back at a later date when they realize that the cops and community are serious about cleaning up that area. SVC Sheriffs – please respond.

You must be very very new to this area. Jakes Way has always had a ton of police presence over the last 20 years! They have helped tremendously in decreasing the crime in that specific area. It will NEVER go away as long as the apartment complexes in that area keep catering to drug addicts, convicts, section 8, etc., The issue should be with the management company “GHP Management” the scumbags who allow anyone and everyone with a freaking rap sheet to move in there.
No, I’m not new to this area. Twenty years is far too long. I’m tired of this being a violent crime area and I’d like the Sheriffs to do something about it. They are NOT doing enough. Like I said, if they had a stonger police presence the section 8 drug addicts and felons would move on.
It’s rather ungrateful and extremely disrespectful of you to assume that the sheriff’s department isn’t doing all they can possibly do in thier power to try and stop the crime that is occurring in that area! It is so disgusting to me when I see people bashing police officers!
Get over yourself. First of all, I am entitled to my opinion. Second, I did not “bash” the Sheriff’s Dept, I simply want them to work harder at cleaning up that area.
