Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital’s Girl Talk: A Women’s Health Series will be returning on Thursday, Oct. 13.
As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this Girl Talk installment will focus on Breast Cancer and the importance of annual check-ups.
The panel of medical experts at this session includes Breast Medical Oncologist Rena Callahan, MD; Radiologist Anjali Date, MD; Physical Therapy Coordinator Elizabeth Makous, MSPT; Radiation Oncologist May Lin Tao, MD; and Breast Surgical Oncologist Amanda Woodworth, MD. The session will be moderated by President of the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Foundation Marlee Lauffer.
Girl Talk will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Henry Mayo Center on the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital campus. Those interested in attending can RSVP at the event’s website.
“We are excited to bring back Girl Talk during the month of October to focus on breast cancer,” said Adrienne Thompson, Henry Mayo’s Community Relations Coordinator. “Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. We hope those who attend will leave feeling empowered to get their annual check-ups and know the resources available at Henry Mayo. We encourage people to sign up early as attendance is limited.”
Girl Talk is both a social and an informative series that allows women to pose questions to local medical experts in a relaxed atmosphere. The format is free flowing and not rushed, with no set presentations. Attendees have ample time to ask the panel of medical experts questions regarding Breast Cancer Awareness. Refreshments and appetizers are served.
