Original post, 3:18 p.m.: Officials at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station are looking into a string of burglaries that hit four local pharmacies in a span of approximately four hours early Thursday morning.
The first burglary occurred in Valencia at The Druggist on Smythe Drive at approximately 12:41 a.m., said Sergeant Waterman.
Shortly after, approximately 15 minutes later, the second burglary occurred at Saugus Drugs and Hallmark on Bouquet Canyon Drive in Saugus.
Burglars then broke into the Walgreens on Sloan Canyon Road in Castaic at approximately 3:10 a.m.
The last incident occurred at approximately 4:23 a.m. at Newhall Pharmacy on Main Street in Newhall.
Sgt. Waterman said it’s still too early in the investigation to assume all four incidents are related. He also could not verify what items were taken.
“We haven’t concluded anything yet,” Waterman said. “I have not seen any of the reports yet. We’re still working on it and looking into video surveillance. But we have nothing right now.”
Anyone with information regarding the incidents is asked to call the SCV Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.
Updates
SCV Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to reports of four different commercial burglaries where unknown suspect(s) broke into pharmacies. Items that were taken included pharmaceutical medications and cigarettes.
After viewing video surveillance of one of the pharmacies hit, detectives viewed four male suspects wearing hoodies and long pants. However, detectives still can’t confirm whether or not all four suspects are connected with the pharmacy burglaries from Thursday morning.
No additional suspect information or photos are available at this time. Officials also have no vehicle information as of yet, nor do they have videos to release.
