For the first time since the Santa Clarita-based firm was founded in 1998, a third partner’s name is becoming part of the official name of the firm as Poole & Shaffery becomes Poole Shaffery & Koegle, LLP.

“I’m honored to have my name appear next to those of David Poole and John Shaffery, two partners who have set the bar for excellence in the California legal profession,” said Brian E. Koegle, who, as a partner in the firm, has focused primarily on employment and labor law.

Koegle, 45, has been with the firm for 15 years and became a partner in 2010. He has provided counsel to employers across various industries regarding hiring practices, employment contracts, wage and hour issues, compensation, discipline and termination matters. He chairs the firm’s Employment Litigation and Counseling Practice groups.

“The respect I have for this firm, our entire team and the two partners who founded it, is immeasurable,” Koegle said. “I’m looking forward to many more years working together to deliver excellent legal services to the businesses and communities we serve through all five of our Southern California offices.”

The founding partners said the respect is mutual, which is why the business law firm’s name is undergoing a change.

David S. Poole said it had become clear that making Koegle’s name an official part of the firm’s name was the natural next step in the relationship between Koegle and the firm.

“He’s an integral part of everything we do. Brian is a ‘heart-and-soul’ member of our partnership team,” Poole said. “Brian is a leader among the partners in our firm, and we have been fortunate to see him grow into the excellent attorney he has become over the past 15 years.”
