More than two dozen families displaced by an apartment fire in Stevenson Ranch early Friday morning are now being relocated by the Red Cross, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department officials.
Firefighters remained on the scene Friday afternoon as cleanup continued after the fire that started around 1 a.m. at the Parc Chateaux apartment complex in Stevenson Ranch.
Newhall School District officials are also offering resources to the families of Pico Canyon Elementary and Oak Hills Elementary, which are two of the schools with students and staff affected by the fire.
Fire officials were still working on the structure to ensure a blaze will not reoccur as of about 10:30 a.m.
About 35 people have been displaced and 20 units were lost, but fortunately for residents, no injuries were reported, according to fire officials.
