Valencia’s Jonathan Chang had the low round against Chaminade in a match at Robinson Ranch, but the Vikings lost to the Eagles by 14 strokes.
Chang shot a 3-under 68 and had five birdies. Teammate Glen Lee was 7-over at 79.
Valencia shot 408 as a team to Chaminade’s 394.
The first Foothill League golf match of the season is at Valencia Country Club today. All six teams from the Foothill League are entered.
Tee time is at 12:30.
The Santa Clarita Christian baseball team, ranked No. 10 in the CIF Southern Section Division 7 poll, plays Desert Christian today.
The Trinity baseball team is on the road and plays Hillcrest Christian from Thousand Oaks.

In high school volleyball, Canyon is at Golden Valley in the Foothill League opener. Valencia is at West Ranch and Hart travels to Saugus.
In college baseball, College of the Canyons is home against Bakersfield.
In college softball, COC has a doubleheader against Mission College.
In baseball, Dee Gordon and Jerry Sands came up with some clutch plays in the Dodgers’ 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox in spring training in Arizona.
Gordon scored the tying run in the sixth inning. He reached on a bunt single, stole second, went to third on an errant throw and scored on a sacrifice fly. Gordon has 10 stolen bases in spring training.
Sands drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning.
In hockey, the Kings lost to the Vancouver Canucks, 1-0, and are on the outside looking in the playoff picture.
The Kings have lost two games in a row and dropped out of the top eight in the Western Conference.
There are six games left in the season and four are on the road. The Kings play the Flames in Calgary on Wednesday.
