Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit
Good afternoon Saugus. This week we had 5 Part-1 crimes reported in the Saugus area. The first was a residential burglary/vehicle burglary in the 29100 block of Talavera Lane on February 8th. The victim had multiple Items stolen from her vehicle overnight. She also recalled hearing someone in the house but thought it was her roommate. After investigating the incident it was learned that the roommate had been sleeping and was not walking through the house. It was determined that nothing was taken from the house. Later in the shift deputies apprehended the suspect.
There was an assault with a deadly weapon in the 24000 block of Via Valencia on February 8th. The victim was attacked by his son with a blunt object. Before deputies arrived the suspect had fled the area. After an extensive search deputies located the suspect who was arrested without incident. The suspect in this case was also responsible for the above burglaries.
There was a vehicle burglary in the 21700 block of Whey Drive on Feb. 6. The victim discovered that someone had pried the back window off her truck and stole her purse.
We had a petty theft in the 29100 block of Starwood Place on February 3rd. The victim discovered his bicycle was stolen from the front of his house overnight.
A theft occurred in the 28300 block of Rodgers Drive on January 15th. The victim reported that someone stole a package which was delivered from UPS. The package was taken from the victim’s front porch. He did not realize the theft had occurred until recently. Please remember that when placing orders online to try to arrange the delivery when you are home. Some postal services have a choice that the item has to be signed for otherwise it will be stored at their warehouse for pickup.
There were multiple arrests made over the past week in the Saugus area. The arrests include narcotics, assault, burglary and DUI.

I truly don’t feel like things are getting better. It’s scary to know there are people this heartless in the world. The same world I have to raise my kids in…scares me so much I ordered a camera system from Southern Circuits. How can you steal someone else on a daily basis and consider yourself a human being?
