The City of Palmdale’s has announced its schedule of summer bus excursions to various fun-filled locations and events throughout Southern California.

Registration is available at www.cityofpalmdale.org/playpalmdale, or at the recreation and culture office, 38260 10th St. East, open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 6 pm.

All excursion busses will meet at Palmdale Transportation Center, 39000 Clock Tower Plaza. The name of each person attending, address, phone number, emergency contact, and each minor child’s birth date are required. An adult must accompany anyone under age 18.

“Let us do the driving while you enjoy some of the most fun and entertaining spots and events in Southern California,” said Palmdale’s Recreation Supervisor, Paula Leszkiewicz.

The summer excursions include:
The Getty Center – June 6, 8:30 am – 6:30 pm. $25 – Discounted to $20 for Palmdale residents.

Well known for its iconic architecture, tranquil gardens, and stunning views overlooking Los Angeles, The Getty Center’s collection includes paintings, drawings, manuscripts, sculpture, photographs and decorative arts. A special exhibition, Light, Paper, Process: Reinventing Photography, explores the essence of photography that revels this medium’s materials and process.

LA Waterfront – June 27, 8 am – 8 pm. $25 – Discounted to $20 for Palmdale residents.
Set against the incredible backdrop of America’s Port, the LA Waterfront in San Pedro is truly a feast for the senses. From a marine aquarium, historical landmarks, an indoor craft marketplace, museums and dining, this is the place to explore. Walk or hop on the Waterfront Red Car Line to discover and experience this unique part of Los Angeles.

Orange County Fair – Aug. 1, 8:30 am – 9 pm. $30 – Discounted to $25 for Palmdale residents.

Celebrating its 125th year, the Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa features thousands of traditional exhibits and fabulous food. Enjoy the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of an old-fashioned fair. Whether it’s the sweet smell of funnel cake or the memory of your first kiss at the top of a Ferris wheel, relive your experiences and create some new ones.

Hollywood Bowl – Aug. 15, 4 pm – 12:15 am. $38 – Discounted to $33 for Palmdale residents.

Warner Bros. presents “Bugs Bunny at the Symphony—25th Anniversary!” For 25 hilarity-filled years, Bugs Bunny and his Looney Tunes pals have teamed up with live orchestras playing phenomenal scores, bringing audiences to their feet in laughter, cheers and applause. You’ll see and hear Warner Bros.’ greatest animated shorts, plus exciting surprises. Expect favorites like What’s Opera Doc?, The Rabbit of Seville and Zoom and Bored, as well as the “live orchestra” world premiere of Long Haired Hare. Take part in a long standing tradition by bringing a picnic to enjoy before the performance.
