Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested a Long Beach man on multiple charges for weapons and drugs earlier this week, according to officials.
Here’s the story from the station’s social media:
“(On) Tuesday, Oct. 16, around 11:45 p.m., one of our patrol deputies conducted a traffic stop on Frazier Mountain Road in Gorman.
“The driver, a 32-year-old adult male, was initially found to be driving on a suspended license for DUI.
“But then—the deputy learned that the Long Beach man was a gang member, had two loaded firearms in his car, and was in possession of cocaine, and a large quantity of marijuana.
“The deputy arrested the adult male on three felony charges, and two misdemeanor charges.
“The firearms and narcotics were seized as evidence, and the suspect’s vehicle was towed. The suspect was transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail.
“Gorman is located in the northernmost part of the area our deputies patrol. Although small, it’s an important place to check for criminals because it is ‘one of the most continuously used roadside rest stops in California’ which means—thousands of motorists pass through there daily.
“And, as a possible gateway to SCV, deputies will continue to keep their eyes peeled for crooks.”
