The 16 Santa Clarita Valley LDS congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are inviting the public to attend their annual Community Christmas Concert.
This year’s theme, “When Love Was Born,” presents the Biblical Christmas story of the birth of Jesus Christ. The performances feature a 170+ voice choir, including an amazing children’s choir, a 60 member orchestra, and a narrated visual presentation by actor Kirby Heyborne.
There are three performances: Saturday, December 10th at 7 pm and two performances on Sunday, December 11th – at 5 pm and 7:30 pm. All performances will be held at the Valencia Stake Center located at 24443 McBean Parkway in Valencia.
“Our testimony to all mankind is that Jesus Christ lives. He is our joy and salvation and we will find Christmas of greater meaning in our own lives as we live His truths,” said, Ray Carlson, President of the Valencia Stake.
Each year, this dedicated choir and full orchestra rehearses and performs under the leadership of director and composer Richard Rich. Rich, formerly a Disney Animator, has directed and produced eight feature length animated films including The Swan Princess and The King and I, as well as the Living Scriptures animated films.
“We are excited to share with you our love and testimony of the Savior. Come enjoy the spirit of Christmas with us!” said President Carlson.
Admission is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required. Doors will open 30 minutes before each performance. Handicapped parking and space for those needing help is available. Overflow parking being provided at Cal Arts. A parking shuttle from Cal Arts lot will start 1 hour before each performance.
