Traffic deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station arrested two men for allegedly driving under the influence in separate incidents Monday and Tuesday.
Here’s the story from the station’s social media:
We care about monitoring for drunk drivers because we want to keep the roads safe for our residents and families.
Traffic deputies arrested drunk drivers on both Monday and Tuesday.
On Monday, New Year’s Day, around 3:30 a.m., a deputy saw a car traveling at a high rate of speed and switching lanes quickly on Lyons Avenue, Newhall.
A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver, a male white adult, failed the field sobriety tests.
The 24-year-old Canyon Country man tested over the legal limit and was arrested, transported and booked at the SCV Sheriff’s Station.
On Tuesday morning, around 1:30 a.m., a deputy saw a car traveling at a high rate of speed in the Copperhill Drive/David Way area of Saugus.
The deputy noticed the driver drove through a stop sign at an intersection. The deputy conducted a traffic stop, and when he mentioned to the driver, a male white adult, about not stopping at the stop sign, the driver said, “What stop sign?”
Exactly our point.
The 21-year-old Canyon Country man did not pass the field sobriety tests administered. He was well above the legal limit for blood alcohol levels and was arrested, transported and booked at the SCV Sheriff’s Station.
We also impounded his vehicle.
