Many stores promote spring as planting season when, in reality, spring is for maintenance. For your garden or landscape to be successful, you may want to follow this planting schedule:
Spring – Maintenance: This is the time of year to make sure everything is in tip top shape to survive the summer.
Summer – Planning: This is the time of year when you want to plan your landscaping changes. It’s too hot to actually do the work and it takes more effort and water for your plants to survive.
Fall – Planting: This is the best time of year to plant because the weather is starting to cool down and it takes less water to establish and maintain your landscape.
In anticipation of summer and planning season, SCV Water’s free June garden class offerings will teach you how to maintain your landscape and choose plants that will infuse a variety of green into your landscape year-round.
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to learn how to choose Shrubs and Native Plants for your landscape.
All classes are held at SCV Water, located at 27234 Bouquet Canyon Road, Santa Clarita.
