With the weather we’ve had this summer, it feels like the seasons may never change. But September is almost here and the first day of fall is near. In anticipation of cooler times, SCV Water has you covered with free monthly gardening classes that will help you prepare for fall by helping you pick the right plants for your landscape and teach you how to ward off weeds and pests.
Not sure what plants to use in your landscape? We’ve taken out the guess work by identifying the top 30 plants that look beautiful and grow well in the SCV. Join us Thursday, Sept. 19 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. to learn about the Top 30 Plants for the SCV. They’ll make a great addition to your landscape.
Are you pestered by pests? Worried by weeds? Disturbed by diseases? Come learn about common landscape health problems and what to do about them. Join us Saturday, Sept. 21 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. to learn about Controlling Weeds, Pests and Diseases. With a little bit of education, you can stop them before they start.
All classes are held at SCV Water, located at 27234 Bouquet Canyon Road, Santa Clarita.
To register, and to see a complete list of classes for 2019, visit www.yourSCVwater.com or call (661) 513-1230 and sign up.
John Windsor will be teaching both classes in September. John Windsor is a Certified Arborist and a California Certified Nurseryman. He has been a Horticultural Advisor in the Santa Clarita Valley for the last 21 years. He has a teaching credential in Horticulture and teaches gardening and landscape classes at the local Adult School, and the Santa Clarita Department of Parks and Recreation.
