The search is underway for a Valencia family who went missing on April 5 during a road trip down the West Coast.
According to family members, Sandeep Thottapilly, 42, his wife Soumya, 38, son Siddhant, 12, and daughter Saachi, 9, who attends Meadows Elementary School, went on a road trip from Portland, Oregon to San Jose. The family lost contact with them on April 5. Their last known location was around the Redwood National Park area in Northern California.
Sachin Thottapilly, the brother of Sandeep, has flown down from Canada to help in the search.
“I am in San Jose now,” Sachin Thottapilly said. “And there are friends who are helping me. I have some cousins from Dallas who are also here to help.”
Thottapilly also said the San Jose Police Department has deployed crews to help in the search since Saturday, April 7. But there are no updates or leads.
Thottapilly said he’s appreciative of all the help and support from the community.
“Please let the community know,” Thottapilly said. “They have been very concerned, forthcoming and helpful.”
Officials at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said they are currently not involved in the case as the missing person’s report was filed in San Jose.
The family was driving a Maroon Honda Pilot, with a California license plate number of 7MMX138.
Anyone with information is asked to call local law enforcement or (813) 616-3091.
