The Heritage Reflections Questers will host a free open house at the restored 1910-era Kingsburry Home in Heritage Junction at William S. Hart Park in Old Town Newhall on Sunday, Sept. 2 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The 1930s-era all-electric Edison House is also part of the open house.
The houses are in Heritage Junction at the south end of Hart Park, located at 24151 Newhall Ave., Newhall 91321.
The Questers are an International preservation and restoration group that believe historical places matter. Many hours of research by the three Quester chapters, Oak of the Golden Dream, Canyon, and Heritage Reflection have gone in restoring the homes to reflect the times in
ole Newhall.
Come to spend a quiet, cool Sunday afternoon reflecting on your parents’ childhood by showing your children what games were played, chores required to run the household, and even listen or dance to an original Edison record on an hand-crank Edison phonograph player.
Volunteers will be on hand to show/tell the unique stories of the homes and those who lived there.
The houses will also be open to the public on Sunday, Oct. 7 and Nov. 4 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
