Summer Suppression Team deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station captured a parolee at large in Newhall Thursday — while he was asleep.
It all unfolded earlier that day when deputies were in the Watch Sergeant’s office and a call came in from the California Department of Corrections.
They had received a tip a parolee-at-large was at a Newhall residence but wasn’t going to be there long.
Summer Suppression Team deputies along with an additional patrol unit rolled over to the location on Fourl Road.
Once they arrived, they were let inside the house and there was the parolee-at-large, sound asleep on the couch.
Anthony Perez, age 26, awakened to deputies slipping handcuffs on his wrists.
The felon, already on parole for burglary, was arrested and booked at the SCV Sheriff’s Station.
