We got stuck here at night once last winter when the backside of the trail was inaccessible due to a raging river back there (due to the rains)…Was our first time hiking the loop and we went too late not realizing it wouldn’t lead us out b/c of the water. Thankfully we were on the trail and went back the way we came. Was def scary at night though! Rangers gratefully knew we were there too b/c of our car and were about to send someone out looking for us. Although it would have been a $600 fine being there past dusk. Yikes! Thankfully he was super cool and didn’t fine us and only gave us a $75 parking ticket for being parked that late…but when he let us out of gate he asked for it back b/c I think he felt bad. Super nice guy! Never did that again ?
