Laura and Troy Jardine, the owners of The Pie Tin, announced the bakery is going up for sale Thursday.
The Pie Tin is a bakery that specializes in sweet and savory pies. It opened in 2017 and provides the only bakery specializing in pies in the Santa Clarita Valley. Customers have the choice of purchasing slices or ordering whole pies for family or special occasions. The selection runs the gamut from classic fruit pies to more fanciful ones like s’mores and Bourbon pecan. The savory pies, fit for a meal, include pot roast pie and the classic chicken pot pie. Their mission is to “provide our neighbors and beyond with delicious, homemade pies that provide a little comfort and a lot of love in every slice.”
“We are suffering from our own success,” said Laura Jardine. “We have grown and are not able to manage the shop and continue in our careers and be able to spend time with our family. Something had to change.”
The plan was to expand The Pie Tin and eventually franchise the concept over time. The challenge was being able to find the time and resources needed to do it right. The family finally decided that if they weren’t going to be able to expand The Pie Tin the right way, then they should make it available to a new owner that sees the vision and is willing to take it to the next level.
“It was a difficult decision for us,” Troy said. “But our family has to come first and we didn’t want to diminish the great experience we had created at The Pie Tin. Selling is the only way we can do both.” Laura added, “We appreciate all of the support we have received and have truly loved getting to know those that make it a point to come in regularly.”
The couple retained Mike Grover, the owner of Transworld Business Advisors of Santa Clarita, to represent them in the sale.
All interested parties are urged to contact Mike at mgrover@tworld.com or 661-220-1993. Please do not contact the owners or employees directly. They will refer all potential buyers to Transworld.
