A thief or thieves tunneled into a Stevenson Ranch doughnut shop and burglarized it sometime Sunday night, a customer reported Monday.

The burglar(s) apparently took advantage of a vacant unit next to the shop, breaking a small hole in the wall that separated the two units to gain access, according to Kristin Wolsic Drape, a resident and customer of the shop who witnessed the aftermath Monday.

Once inside the shop, it is believed the thieves stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the register as well as a cell phone, and caused some minor damage to the interior, Wolsic Drape said.
