Sierra Carrasco
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The Master’s College women’s soccer team continues to bolster its roster for the 2015 season by signing Sierra Carrasco from Riverside, California.
Commenting on her decision to become a Mustang, Carrasco stated, “I chose to attend The Master’s College due to its beautiful scenery, the godly environment, enhancing my knowledge and skills in soccer, developing relationships with other godly people, and above all, growing spiritually stronger in my relationship with Jesus.”
Carrasco enters her time at TMC with an impressive resume boasting accolades earned on both the high school and club levels.
In her time competing at Patriot High School, Carrasco broke the school’s girls’ soccer goal record and currently holds the record for the most goals in a season with 29. Over her four years of competing on the varsity level, Carrasco earned the team’s MVP Offensive Player of The Year three years in a row. Carrasco also earned All-CIF Honorable Mention kudos, earned all-league third-team her freshman year, and coupled a first-team All-River Valley League selection with River Valley MVP honors her junior year.
Looking ahead to her time as a Lady Mustang, Carrasco already has goals consisting of, “Learning and taking in as much as I can from the teachings and guidance of my coach. I’m excited to see what the Lord is ready to reveal to me about myself. I am also looking forward to making lifetime friends with my teammates as well as my classmates.”
Commenting on her signing, TMC women’s soccer head coach Curtis Lewis stated, “I’m very excited to get Sierra to the program and watch her develop and grow into a productive player at the college level. She will redshirt this year because of a torn ACL, but was a highly-touted player that will have a lot of impact once she heals up.”
Carrasco anticipates aiding TMC as a forward.
When not competing, Carrasco looks to use her education to prepare for a career as a social worker.
In 2014, TMC went 13-6-1 overall and 7-2-1 in conference play. Looking ahead, after parting ways with eight seniors, the Lady Mustangs return a roster full of talent that will prime them for another strong season.
