A toddler died after being found unresponsive in a pool near Valencia just after 7 p.m. Monday.

The call came in to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station after the 3-year-old boy was found not breathing in a pool, according to Sheriff’s Station officials.

Los Angeles County Fire responded to the home and administered CPR.

The boy was given a police escort from the house near Grandview Drive and Woodfield Place to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, where the baby was pronounced dead.

The case is now being handled by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Detective Bureau and it is still under investigation.
