Sports package.photo A Hollywood Bowl picnic and concert, hot air balloon package, a beer-tasting tour of Boston and a package of collector’s wines will be on the auction block for Zonta’s 2015 Tribute to Women dinner on Friday, Nov. 6, at the Valencia Hyatt Regency.

There are 16 items in the live auction and as many as 20 in the silent auction—many unique to SCV fund-raising events.

The Boston trip, a new offering to local charity auctions, includes round trip air fare to Boston for two, a two-night stay in a Boston hotel with meal allowance, and a tour of the Samuel Adams Brewery, including a guided beer tasting.

Yet another weekend getaway on the auction block will include a one-night stay at the Pismo Beach Hotel – Cliff House. The $400 voucher also can be used for appetizers and dinner. Part of the package will be a Tally Winery tour and VIP tasting with wine maker Eric Johnson, plus a magnum of 2013 Estate Chardonnay.

The Christmas at Magic Mountain package includes park tickets for six people, including a free parking pass, lunch for six at the Full Throttle sports bar, private tour guide and front-of-line passes for all rides and attractions, and the park’s holiday winter spectacular, with lights and seasonal treats.Wine preserv systm. photo

The Night Under the Stars package allows four guests to enjoy a Saturday night concert in a centrally located terrace box at the Hollywood Bowl, including VIP parking, two bottles of wine, four acrylic wine glasses and Patina boxed dinners.

The Disney Ultimate Adventure includes four tickets to a Disneyland theme park, two tickets to a concert in the Disney Music Hall, a $100 gift card and Disney memorabilia, including Mickey Mouse gloves and an “interactive” Mickey Mouse hat with ears that light up in concert with music during the Disneyland parades.

Zonta’s signature Red, White and Blueberry Breakfast will offer front-row seating for the annual 4th of July Parade in Downtown Newhall for a party of up to12 guests, with VIP seating right on the parade route.

Other live auction items will include a package of dinner and entertainment opportunities in the SCV; season VIP passes for four to Santa Clarita’s Concerts in the Park series next summer, including VIP parking and dinner; a package of tickets for sports lovers with a foursome of golf at the Valencia Tournament Players Club, including lunch or dinner; and a fully-equipped Maui beach house that sleeps 12.

For those who enjoy gourmet meals and libations closer to home, there is a catered dinner for eight hosted in the buyer’s own home, with wine and food pairing, appetizer and before-dinner cocktail, and a session of wine education highlighting each of the three wines served.

A cellar collection will offer a half case of fine collector wines, a $100 gift certificate for dinner at Le Chene for two guests, and a conservator wine preservation system. A night with Chef Jim of Marston’s will include a multi-course dinner for eight to 10 guests on a mutually-agreed-upon date in 2016 when the restaurant is closed to all but the special guests, appetizers in the chef’s kitchen with cooking demonstration, entre-through-dessert courses in the restaurant, with wine pairings.

A hot air balloon ride package will include a one-night stay at the Inn at South Coast Winery (Sunday through Thursday), private wine and cheese tasting, pastries, coffee and champagne at dawn before the early morning balloon flight, and a $50 voucher toward a gourmet breakfast at the South Coast Winery Restaurant.

Silent auction items will include wine, hotel stays, a gourmet kitchen package, a Randy Wicks original cartoon, tickets to Southern California zoos and Knotts Berry Farm, souvenir hockey sticks, jewelry, a flag flown over the capitol from Congressman Steve Knight, lunch with Assemblyman Scott Wilk and more.

The evening will include a champagne reception and hors d’oeuvres at 6 p.m., followed by dinner, the live auction and tribute. Event co-chairs Adele Macpherson and Lois Bauccio are working with a video team to create an after-dinner tribute to influential women across the ages—starting with Eve!  Keyes Automotive is a platinum sponsor of this year’s Tribute.

The annual tribute dinner is Zonta’s chief fundraiser, supporting local and global programs to improve the lives of women and girls. For the past several years, the event has been formatted to salute successful women serving leadership roles in the local community. This year’s Tribute honors Elizabeth Hopp, executive vice president and chief banking officer with the Bank of Santa Clarita.

Table reservations are closed, but some individual seats may still be ordered for $125 each on a space-available basis. Reservations or further information are available by calling the Zonta message line at (661) 252-9351 or clicking on the Tribute page at Zonta’s website, www.scvzonta.org.
