Valencia High School junior golfer Alison Lee has earned a sponsor’s invitation to play in this week’s Kraft Nabisco Championship, the first major of the LPGA season.
The four-round golf tournament is being played on the par 72 Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage.
Lee, who has verbally committed to play at UCLA, was the low junior amateur in the Fresh & Easy-Kraft Foods Legacy Junior Challenge Tuesday, carding a 4-under par 68 on the Mission Hills Country Club golf course. She stepped onto the LPGA stage with her sponsor’s invitation Thursday, shooting a 7-over 79.
Eighteen girls played golf with legends of the LPGA Tour on Tuesday, March 27, at Mission Hills CC as part of the Fresh & Easy-Kraft Foods Legacy Junior Challenge. The juniors were selected through a process led by the Southern California Golf Association Foundation. Criteria included community involvement and leadership, in addition to golf skills.
The top 70 and ties will make the cut to this weekend’s third and fourth rounds.
