Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit
During the week indicated, the following Part 1 crimes occurred in Canyon Country East:
(1) Commercial Burglary, (1) Theft from Vehicle, (1) Attempted Commercial Burglary, (2) Larceny (1) Vehicle Burglary.
A theft from an unlocked vehicle was reported at the 18000 block of Sundowner Way. In this incident the victim left her vehicle unlocked and unattended for a few minutes. When the victim returned she found that her purse was stolen from the front seat of the vehicle. Her purse contained $2000 and jewelry.
There was a Commercial Burglary reported at “Perfect Nails” on Soledad Canyon Road. In this incident the suspect(s) pried open the rear door to the business and entered the business. The suspect stole tools from inside the business.
Two vehicle burglaries occurred near the 27000 block of Solamint Road. In the first incident the suspect smashed the passenger window and stole a bag of tools that was in plain view. In the second incident the victim left a bag of tools in the bed of his truck which was stolen.
Your chances of being a victim of a theft greatly increase if you keep valuable items in plain view in your car. Please make sure to hide or remove valuables form your car when you park it.
