Week of 07/14/14 through 07/20/14
A look back at the crimes reported in the Newhall area last week.
On Monday the 14th, at 9:00 a.m., a bird cage and 2 parakeets were stolen from a business in the 23900 block of Calgrove Boulevard. The 40 year old female suspect fled the location in a white van.
On Friday the 18th, between 3:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m., a red and black “Specialized” mountain bike was stolen from a parking area in the 25000 block of Walnut Street.
Between Wednesday the 16th, and Thursday the 17th, a large copper water valve was cut off a pipe and stolen from a business in the 25000 block of Peachland Avenue.
A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday the 15th, between 7:00 a.m., and 5:00 p.m., in the 24300 block of Peppermint Lane. The suspect entered through a window and took property from inside the residence.
A cell phone was taken from a business in the 23400 block of Lyons Avenue. The phone was left unattended briefly while an employee was in the back room.
Sometime between Saturday the 19th, and Sunday the 20th, a 2008 Ford truck was stolen from the 24300 block of Cross Street. The truck has since been recovered in Palmdale.
On Monday the 14th, an 18 year old male was arrested in the 24800 block of Walnut Street for burglary. The suspect had entered a garage that was being used for storage and loaded his backpack with construction materials.
Remember to lock your doors and windows, don’t leave valuables in plain view, be aware of your surroundings, and report suspicious behavior.
