A look back at the crimes reported in the Newhall area last week.
On Sunday the 14th, a 25 year old male transient was arrested for multiple felony charges in the 20900 block of Costa Brava. The suspect had initially attacked his ex-girlfriend at her residence and then committed several more crimes as he attempted to escape the area. The suspect is currently being held on $100,000 bail awaiting court proceedings.
On Saturday the 13th at 7:00 p.m., a female entered a business in the 23600 block of Lyons Avenue and fraudulently purchased (4) $100 gift cards. Based on initial information, the suspect may be involved in a larger theft ring throughout the Los Angeles area.
On Monday the 8th at 11:00 a.m., a 61 year old male was arrested at in the 23400 block of Lyons Avenue for shoplifting. The suspect was later released and is scheduled to appear in court.
On Tuesday the 9th, between 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m., an employee’s cell phone was stolen at a business in the 23400 Lyons Avenue. The phone had been left unattended while the victim was at lunch.
Remember to lock your doors and windows, don’t leave valuables in plain view, be aware of your surroundings, and report suspicious behavior.
