Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit

Last week, the following Part 1 crimes occurred in Zone 3 Stevenson Ranch:

(1) Commercial Burglary and (1) Shoplift.

A commercial burglary occurred near the 25600 block of The Old Road. An unknown suspect entered the location after hours and attempted to take envelopes out of a night deposit box. The suspect used a glue rat trap and string in an attempt to pull the envelopes out of the box. The case is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Station Detectives.

A shoplift burglary occurred near the 24500 block of The Old Road. Two suspects exited the location, failing to pay for several items. Upon being contacted by loss prevention personnel, the suspects fled the location. Responding deputies were able to detain an awaiting suspect in a vehicle, related to the incident. The third suspect was arrested on narcotics related charges.
