TastePocockPocock Brewing is hosting a Beer Festival on December 3, at its location, 24907 Avenue Tibbitts in Santa Clarita, with proceeds benefitting the Castaic and SCV Education Foundations.

“We started our business with the desire to serve good beer to thirsty patrons and to serve our community through donations and volunteer time,” co-owner Todd Tisdell said. “When we started thinking about how we wanted to celebrate our first year, we wanted to find a way to thank both our customers and our community. It made the most sense to us, to help in education. Our schools always need support, so we’re grateful to help them in any way we can.”

In an effort to raise more dollars for the foundations, Pocock Brewing gratefully accepted sponsorships from local businesses like Logix Federal Credit Union.

“We’ve been looking for an opportunity to help the SCV and Castaic Education Foundations, as they are very worthy organizations,” Senior Community Relations Specialist Alethia Calagias said. “Pocock (Brewing) has created a reputation for good corporate citizenship and it’s a privilege to work with them on giving back.”

The money raised at this festival will make a difference for thousands of students in the form of grants that put money directly into classrooms, books and scholarships for our students.

“When Todd (Tisdell) mentioned that he wanted to include us, I enthusiastically said, ‘thank you,’” said Jackie Hartmann, Executive Director of the SCV Education Foundation. “This support means so much to us. For a local business to reach out and contribute in this way is unbelievable. We have a lot of worthy nonprofits and schools in the area, and for them to choose us is appreciated.”

The festival will feature 15 breweries offering unlimited pours, multiple food trucks, live music and lasts from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for general admission. A special VIP admission ticket is available for an hour early entrance and an after party that includes catering from the Newhall Refinery, exclusive tastings, gifts and opportunities.

“We’re proud to be a part of the Santa Clarita Valley community,” co-owner, Sara Tisdell, said. “Without their support, we would not be here to celebrate our 1st Anniversary. Taking that support and turning our anniversary into a way to provide dollars and visibility to two very worthy educational foundations is the icing on the cake.”

General admission and VIP tickets are available at: www.pocockbrewing.brownpapertickets.com.
