Last year Santa Clarita’s community members and business professionals came together to spice things up for three local SCV charities. No one, especially the amateur chefs, expected such rave reviews for their crock-pot chili.

Headed by a co-chairs Nicole Stinson and Amanda Benson, the 5th Annual SCV Charity Chili Cook-off is cooking up some great surprises. Whitening Lightning, manufacturer and distributor of home teeth whitening products, and Gerard Cosmetics have generously stepped up once again to be our Title Sponsor.

image001Forty amateur chefs will be accepted as contestants for the event, to be held on Thursday, March 23 at 6 p.m. We are so excited that Wolf Creek Brewery has signed on again to be our Venue Sponsor. Having the event at Wolf Creek Brewery allows us to be more creative with the event’s experience. It’s already heating up in the kitchen as sponsors are grabbing a seat at the table. There’s plenty of room to join them!  Our sponsorship levels start at $250 and go up to $10,000.  Donations for silent auction are already coming in! This year’s selected charities benefiting are Spotlight Art Center and SRD Straightening Reins.

Attention – Amateur Cookers! There’s still time to enter your secret recipe, serve it up to event attendees, and try for the 2017 trophy for the best chili!  Spicing things up, we have people choice and Judge’s choice awards to hand out.  Our three Chef Judges are Dustin Boole of Newhall Refinery, Alex Rush of Rustic Burger, and Peyton Poulsen of The Oaks Grille.

Those businesses who would like to sponsor the coming year Chili Cook-off please contact Nicole Stinson of Estate Realty Group 661-816-4234 or Amanda Benson with Elite Magazine 661-714-9443 for application and rules.
