[KHTS] – Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies are investigating vandalism and what appears to be case of arson at Castaic Middle School. It is the third case of vandalism to hit Castaic Union School District since Dec. 23.
The district’s special education preschool classroom–housed at Castaic Middle School–was trashed sometime between Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and Monday at 8 a.m., said Sgt. Ron Price with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The suspect(s) discharged a fire extinguisher in the classroom, smeared food on the floors and walls, stuffed diapers in the toilets and sinks and drew on computer monitors, said District Spokeswoman Lisa Bloom.
The suspect(s) also “piled some book up by the building and tried to set them on fire,” Price said.
The incident is similar to a case of vandalism at Castaic Elementary School between Dec. 23 and 29, when the suspect(s) vandalized the school’s music classroom with a fire extinguisher and floor stripper.
What happened to the preschool classroom was “not the exact same thing, but that sort of thing,” Bloom said.
She called it “malicious vandalism.”
Detectives with the station’s Arson and Explosives Detail will investigate the incident on Tuesday, Price said.
As of 12:15 p.m. Monday, no information was available about the cost of the damage.
Between Jan. 10 and 13, the tires were removed from five buses in the district bus yard, interrupting service on the morning of Monday, Jan. 13–the second case of vandalism/crime to hit the district in recent weeks.
The district’s special education preschool program currently serves 10 students, Bloom said.
No arrests have been made in connection with Castaic Middle School incident. Anyone with information about this or the previous incidents is asked to call the Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.

What I know is when they vandalize they take out the cameras so they can’t be seen also last year someone broke a window in the v building and through a stink bomb in an air vent at the Ensor the year someone drew a valencia sign and a marijuana leaf in the quad I’ll have more information about all this tomorrow after my classes at cms
Who cares anymore? Your school will look like trash
