Record Year for Filming in Santa Clarita

2013 was another record year for the Santa Clarita Film Office.  The Film Office is proud to report the highest numbers ever in all categories since the Film Office began issuing permits in 2003.

⇑ Film Permits up 28% – 463 in 2013 vs. 362 in 2012

⇑ Film Days up 38% – 1264 in 2013 vs. 919 in 2012

⇑ Economic Impact up 41% – $30.5 million in 2013
vs. $21.7 million in 2012


California on Location Awards (COLAS)

Two Santa Clarita based shows were among the big winners at the 19th Annual California on Location Awards (COLAS) held on November 3rd at the Beverly Hilton. The COLAs are presented by the Film Liaisons in California Statewide (FLICS) and recognize film location professionals, production companies, and public employees for their excellence while working in the state of California.

The location team from CBS’s “NCIS” was named the “Location Team of the Year – TV Episodic (Body of Work)” for their excellent work over 10 seasons and the location team from FX’s “The Bridge” was named the “Location Team of the Year – TV Episodic (Single Episode or Season) for their outstanding work during their first season.” Both teams are shining examples of professional excellence and the Film Office is proud that both of these award-winning shows call Santa Clarita home.

The Film Office congratulates “NCIS,” “The Bridge” and all winners on their accomplishments.


The Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) Locations Show

The Santa Clarita Film Office will be an exhibitor at the AFCI Locations Show which will be held March 27-29, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. The AFCI Locations Show is the premier platform where locations throughout the world are showcased to industry professionals including directors, producers, location managers, and more. The Film Office will promote Santa Clarita’s versatile and film-friendly locations, film incentive program, one-stop permitting process, movie ranch overlay zone and more. Be sure to stop by our booth to say hello and get more information on all the exciting things Santa Clarita has to offer.

The Santa Clarita Film Office is pleased to welcome two new locally based shows.  FX’s “The Bridge” has relocated to stages in Santa Clarita and FX’s “Braddock & Jackson” a new sitcom starring Kelsey Grammer and Martin Lawrence, has begun filming at Santa Clarita Studios.
