Hi Jolly's Tomb

Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital recently added two new board members and elevated two others to senior board positions.

The hospital’s Board of Directors recently named Don Kimball as its new chair and Judy Fish as vice chair.

The board also appointed two new members, Cheri Fleming and Mark Chamberlain.

Henry Mayo president and CEO Roger Seaver welcomed the new chair and board members, expressing gratitude to outgoing chair Craig Peters for his leadership and dedicated service. Peters remains on the board.

Don Kimball

“In his role as board chair, Don’s financial background and knowledge will be invaluable as Henry Mayo continues to develop to serve our community,” Seaver said. “He is a longtime supporter of Henry Mayo, and we have greatly benefitted from his experience and commitment.”

Kimball has served on the board in various capacities since 2007. He has long been active in the SCV community, having served in leadership positions for a number of Santa Clarita-area nonprofit organizations.

He is currently executive vice president, operations and finance and secretary of The Newhall Land and Farming Company, where he has worked for more than 25 years.

“I am honored to serve as board chair and grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community and continue to build on the accomplishments of this Board,” Kimball said. “The hospital is a vital asset to the Santa Clarita Valley community and I am proud to be a part of its continued growth.”

In addition to Kimball, the board’s new slate of officers includes vice chair, Judy Fish; and new board members Cheri Fleming and Mark Chamberlain.

Judy Fish

Fish served on the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital board from 2001-11 and for many of those years chaired the Patient Care Committee. She rejoined the board in 2013 and was soon elected vice chair. Fish has served in various leadership capacities in the Santa Clarita community.

She was Superintendent of the Saugus Union School District from 2001 to 2011 and currently teaches courses in Educational Leadership and in the Masters Program at California State University, Northridge.

Cheri Fleming

Fleming is active in local business, community service, and volunteerism in Santa Clarita as evidenced by her numerous affiliations, recognitions and memberships in non-profit and business organizations. She is a longtime Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital supporter, having served on the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Foundation Board from 1997—2012 and as Vice President of the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Imaging Center Advisory Board from 2003—2009. Fleming is owner and a managing dealer at Valencia Acura, which in 2006 was selected from among 11,000 new car import dealers to receive the International Automotive Dealer of the Year award.

Mark Chamberlain

Chamberlain comes to the Board with extensive business and management experience and a stellar record in research and development, operations management, finance, and employee development.  He has held management positions with national companies including Hughes Aircraft, Teledyne Systems and Advanced Bionics. Chamberlain is currently Chief Operating Officer of the Alfred Mann Foundation where he has worked since 2008.

Other Board members include John Barstis, MD; Robert Benjamin; Richard Corlin, MD; Dale Donohoe; Cecelia Hann, MD; James Hicken; Marlee Lauffer; Mark Liker, MD; Roscoe Marter, MD; Craig Peters; and Roger Seaver.

Henry Mayo is governed by a 15-member volunteer Board of Directors. The selection and ultimate election of new board members begins with the recommendations of the Governance Committee.  The committee consists of respected local business and civic leaders.
