SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The Master’s College women’s basketball team looks to a strong future with the recent signing of Madison Price.
“I chose to attend The Masters College because I believe it will be the best fit for me in my spiritual life,” said Price. “I look forward to making close friends who cherish worshipping God more then any earthly pleasure.”
The 5-9 point guard/shooting guard combo honed her basketball skills while competing in the Victory League at Mesa Grande Academy in Calimesa, California. After leading the Cardinals to a CIF-Southern Section 5A title in 2013, Price was pegged as the All-CIF Co-Player of the Year, earned the Victory League’s Co-MVP, received honorable mention on Riverside’s Press Enterprise All-Inland Empire team and second-team accolades on the San Bernardino County Sun’s all-county squad (an honor she would repeat in 2015), and was named to the All-California Girls 5A Basketball team. In 2015, Price earned first-team All-CIF SS 5A kudos and was the Victory League’s MVP.
Looking ahead to her time as a Lady Mustang, Price desires to “…become the best basketball player the Lord will allow me to be, while being able to learn about God more with and through my teammates.”
Off the court, Price looks to major in Biological Science.
Commenting on Price’s commitment, TMC women’s basketball head coach Dan Waldeck stated, “We are excited to have Madison here at The Master’s College. She is a great fit and will flourish in this environment. She is a tremendous athlete who has seen great success as a high school player. I believe that as she continues to develop the finer aspects of her abilities, she could make a great impact for us.”
At the end of the 2014-15 season, the Lady Mustangs (24-9, 11-5 GSAC) won the GSAC Tournament championship, were ranked among the NAIA’s Top 25 teams, and made another appearance in the NAIA National Tournament. Looking ahead, TMC’s reloaded roster, consisting of a solid mix of young players and seasoned veterans, bodes well for another successful campaign.
