The Santa Clarita Public Library invites the community to the annual celebration of international culture and childhood literacy at Día De Los Niños/ Día De Los Libros from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The celebration is Saturday, April 29, at the Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library, located at 18601 Soledad Canyon Road. This event is free and open to the public. No reservations are required to attend.
Throughout the day, various events will emphasize the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. The free event will begin with a performance by Ballet Folklorico at 11:00 a.m., followed by Pete the Cat at noon and concludes with a dance performance by the SCV Chinese School at 1:00 p.m.
Additionally, participants can enjoy live music, crafts, creating paper bag puppet, watercolor painting, free face painting and an opportunity to read to dogs and other family-friendly activities. Every child participant will also receive a free book while supplies last.
