The Rye Fire is 93 percent contained and the Creek Fire is 95 percent contained, according to a Sunday evening update from CalFire and the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The Rye Fire stands at 6,049 acres burned. No evacuations or road closures are in effect.
One firefighter was injured, but no civilians. Six structures were destroyed and three damaged, but 5,460 structures are still threatened.

Crews continued to establish containment lines Sunday. Mop up continued Sunday evening and Monday morning as crews ensured the fire remained in control lines.
Assigned resources include 652 total personnel, 55 engines, six water tenders, two helicopters and 18 hand crews.
Officials project full containment by December 15.
The Rye Fire started near 25101 Rye Canyon Loop in Valencia Tuesday, December 5 at 9:32 a.m., and the cause remains under investigation.

The Creek Fire has burned approximately 15,619 acres but was 95 percent contained as of Sunday at 6 p.m. Full containment is predicted Monday.
All evacuation orders and warnings have been lifted.
The Creek Fire started four miles east of Sylmar on Tuesday at 3:44 a.m., according to CalFire.
Approximately 60 residences have been destroyed and another 55 damaged, and 63 other structures have been destroyed and 26 other structures damaged. Damage assessment teams continue to survey the affected structures.
Three injuries were reported.
Emergency and utility crews continue to work in areas affected by the fire, with 992 people on the scene. Resources still mopping up include 656 engines, eight water tenders, two helicopters, 10 bulldozers, and 16 hand crews

I want to thank everyone of the Firefighters & other Fire Resource crews that fought the Creek Fire here at the Santiago Estates where I live in Sylmar, CA. You saved my home & many more. Although there were a few residences that were destroyed here you did the best job you could possibly do in the situation we were in. I am so grateful to each & everyone of you! The Firefighters are a Godsend!
