The Santa Clarita City Council invites the community to attend a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Santa Clarita Archery Range on Thursday, May 23, at 10 a.m.

Hikers, equestrians and cyclists love to visit Santa Clarita’s picturesque open spaces for a day of fun in nature and now archers can also do the same.

The one-acre Archery Range is located in the northernmost canyon in the Haskell Canyon Open Space, located north of Copper Hill Drive and east of Haskell Canyon Road.

To access the range, please follow the signage along the road off Copper Hill Drive. The path to the archery range is a 1.3-mile dirt road. Closed-toed shoes are recommended.

The range was developed by the city in partnership with local nonprofit organization Santa Clarita Valley Archery.

The Haskell Canyon Open Space was chosen as its location because of the amount of space needed for archery practice, keeping archers and trail users alike at a safe distance from practice targets.

The Santa Clarita Archery Range is available and open to the public seven days a week, from dusk till dawn.

On select dates and times, SCV Archery will host free and low-cost introductory classes, including one-on-one coaching and group events.
