Want to give your dog a “cool” surprise, and provide your pooch with an experience they are sure to love and enjoy?
Then bring your precious pooch and have them take a splash at any of six Los Angeles County pools during the happy “Pooches in the Pool” event taking place from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3. Small dogs will be able to swim, jump and frolic in participating county pools free of charge from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Large dogs will be admitted from 6:00 pm. – 7:00 p.m.
The event will take place at the following pool locations (locations in bold are closest to the Santa Clarita Valley): City Terrace Park, 1126 N. Hazard Ave., City Terrace; Victoria Regional Community Park, 419 Martin Luther King, Jr. St., Carson; El Cariso Community Regional Park, 13100 Hubbard St., Sylmar; Don Knabe Community Regional Park, 19700 S. Bloomfield Ave., Cerritos; Loma Alta Park, 3330 Lincoln Ave., Altadena; and Knollwood Country Club, 12040 Balboa Blvd., Granada Hills.

Please click here to download the necessary form, or visit Parks.lacounty.gov and scroll down to “What’s New at Parks & Rec.” Complete the form, and bring it with you to any of the above-mentioned sites on the day of the event. To participate, dog owners must present current licensing and vaccination documents before their pooches can enter the pools. All required documents must be present, as no exceptions will be made. For safety reasons, dog owners won’t be able to swim with their pets. This event will be staffed by employees from the Los Angeles County departments of Parks and Recreation and Animal Care and Control.

We participated in one many years ago, such a fun experience!!
With pools comes chlorine ! With dos and chlorine, comes skin irritation ! Make sure to rinse off after enjoying the pool !
Pets and Pools ! Great idea ! Just remember and Chlorine , good ! Dogs an chlorine – sometimes not so good! Wash off pet with shower, especially the feet, toes and pads ! If not, sometimes skin irritation happens !
