Aug. 1: Western Music Association Showcase at El Trocadero Steakhouse
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Musicians and cowboy poets perform stories and songs of the romantic Old West, contemporary music of the American West, and songs of the open range and the American cowboy. To perform your Western music or poetry with them during this event, email wmacc@westernmusiccalifornia.org.

Aug. 2: ARTree – Figure Drawing at ARTree Community Arts Center
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Are you an artist frustrated with the lack of opportunities to draw in Santa Clarita? Come to ARTree Community Arts Center for a chance to really explore your creative potential using a live model. Just drop in and bring a pencil and paper.
Every 1st, 2nd and 3rd Thursdays of the month, with some additional dates throughout the year.

Aug. 2: JAM Session & Concert – Swing Dance at Old Town Newhall Library
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Dance to the beat and experience something unexpected with JAM Sessions – fun, interactive music and dance events hosted in conjunction with the Ford Theatre Foundation. Presented by Valencia Auto Center, the evening integrates live dance instruction from professional instructors with live band performances.
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and bring a chair if you just plan on listening to the music. JAM Sessions are participatory and centered around movement and music. All JAMs are FREE, and all ages and skill levels are welcome.
This month: Swing Dance.

Aug 3: Live Music on the Patio of Route 66 at Route 66 Classic Grill
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Every Friday night, July thru October from 7-10pm on the patio, there is live music, featuring Dave Lemasters. Route 66 Classic Grill offers a full bar and delicious food.

Aug. 3: Valencia Jazz & Blues Summer Concert Series at Downtown Valencia Town Center Drive, adjacent to the Hyatt Regency
Time: 7:00 p.m.
The sounds of live Jazz and Blues bands will once again fill Town Center Drive in Valencia. The Valencia Jazz & Blues Concert Series will return for the 19th year, once again featuring regional, national and international entertainers in a family friendly, quaint street party setting, offering activities for adults and children. In addition to the extraordinary sounds offered from some of the top Jazz and Blues recording artist in the world, the scheduled series will bring a variety of activities for the entire family as well as a variety of food and beverages, including wine and beer for the adults. No pets or outside food or beverages are allowed. Admission is free.

Aug. 3: Comedy Mashup at The MAIN
Time: 8:00 p.m.
Comedy Mashup is a monthly series that brings together working comedians from all over Southern California for a night of big laughs. The evening includes both stand up and improv performances.
The suggested audience for the performance is adults, ages 18 and older. Beer and wine will be available for purchase at the bar. Doors open one hour prior to showtime.
