The Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce announced Friday that Lois Bauccio has been named president and CEO, effective Sept. 27.
She most recently served as President and Executive Director at the Child and Family Center Foundation in Santa Clarita where she was accountable for raising an annual operating budget of $1.3 million. The chamber’s Executive Committee unanimously agreed on the hiring decision, and the board of directors is pleased that Lois has accepted this key business leadership position within the community.
Curtis Woods, Chairman of the Board, stated: “Lois’ experience operating a large non-profit and her network of relationships within the community makes her the perfect candidate for this role. Witnessing the progress and growth that she achieved while leading the Child and Family Center Foundation is commendable and we look forward to benefiting from her vision and leadership here at the chamber.”
Since 1985, Bauccio has worked professionally in nonprofit management and business development most notably with a focus on fundraising and public relations. She has worked for the California Institute of the Arts, Chaminade, a college prep school, New Horizons and Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Foundation.
Her work with the Child and Family Center Foundation kept her keenly focused on the measurable results for a range of development campaigns and special events that increased the organizations net proceeds by 71 percent. Capital initiatives stewarded by Bauccio facilitated notable growth for the organization’s facilities and created the agency’s state-of-the-art electronic records system.
“I’m honored to have been offered this position with the chamber and look forward to working with the board of directors to advocate for our members,” Bauccio said. “I have resided in Santa Clarita since 1983 and I am very proud to call our valley home.”
Having been named the 2016 Woman of the Year, as well as being counted among the SCV’s 51 Most Influential People by The Signal newspaper for four years running, Bauccio was awarded the 2012 Empowering Hearts Award-Iconic by Single Mothers Outreach.
Bauccio added: “During this past decade, the Child and Family Center Foundation allowed me to make an impact in the lives of families and individuals leaving me immensely proud of the work we accomplished. I am now ready to help emerge the businesses and local leaders of our valley, and our chamber of commerce is where it all begins.”
