Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit

This past week in Zone 7, the following Part-1 Crimes occurred:

(1) Robbery/Attempt, (2) Residential Burglaries, (3) Grand Thefts, (2) Petty Thefts and (1) Shoplift:

An attempt robbery occurred near the 20600 block of Soledad Canyon Road. The suspect approached the victim and put a knife to his throat, demanding the victim’s car keys. When the victim refused to give up his keys, the suspect fled the scene. The suspect was spotted, not far from the location, shortly after the incident by Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station Volunteers on Patrol. They directed responding deputies to the suspect’s location and he was subsequently arrested.

Two garage burglaries occurred near the 19800 block of Sandpiper Place. An unknown suspect entered the locked garages and took items from unlocked vehicles. It is believed the suspect(s) disengaged the chain from the motor and were able to gain access by pulling open the main garage door.

A grand theft occurred near the 26500 block of Carl Boyer Drive. A male suspect attempted to “pick pocket” the victim. When the suspect was confronted by the victim and his friend outside of the location, the suspect produced a knife. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies.

A GTA occurred near the 20400 block of Soledad Canyon Road. The suspect entered the victim’s vehicle, which was left running in front of the location, and drove away. A vehicle that dropped the suspect off was detained and the driver of that vehicle was arrested on unrelated charges. The vehicle was recovered a short distance away from the scene. The suspect was arrested by assisting deputies a short time after the incident.

A petty theft/shoplift occurred near the 26400 block of Carl Boyer Dr. Two male suspects exited the location, failing to pay for several cases of beer. The suspects were followed by loss prevention officers however, they fled the scene prior to the arrival of Sheriff’s personnel. The case is currently under investigation.

If you have any questions about the above mentioned crimes please call or email me.
