The Los Angeles-based design agency Kilter, co-founded and directed by CalArts alum Joseph Prichard (Art MFA 08), has launched a new pro-bono design campaign to promote open enrollment in the Affordable Care Act at healthcare.gov by December 15.
The design agency has uploaded free artwork to their website, which can be used by the public in order to promote the deadline for applying for health coverage through the ACA, colloquially known as “Obamacare.” The agency is also purchasing outdoor and digital advertising to help spread the message.
This campaign is a reaction to the recent cut in advertisement funding for ACA outreach, which could lead to a loss of 1.1 million enrollees, according to former Healthcare.gov Chief Marketing Officer Josh Peck.
“When the Trump administration announced it was cutting the outreach budget for healthcare enrollment by 90%, we felt a need to act,” said Stephanie Chan, co-founder of Kilter. “In response to this appalling news, we created a pro-bono campaign of downloadable posters, images and gifs that can be easily shared, printed and posted to increase awareness.”
The artwork will be available to download at www.kilter.la/getcovered until the enrollment period ends on Dec. 15.
Established earlier this year, Kilter is a full-service design studio that partners with entrepreneurs, instigators and advocates that shape society. The company’s goal is to create work that delights and engages audiences, challenges preconceptions and exploit new opportunities for success.
