1938 - Brand-new Lockheed transport plane crashes in Agua Dulce; all 9 perish including 2 infants [story]
plane crash

Deputies were able to take three suspected bad guys off the streets and recover some stolen property in the process in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

According to Sgt. Richard Nagler of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, deputies responded to a report of a car burglary on Newhall Avenue around 4 a.m.

In the process of searching the area, they found one suspect near a bike on the ground on Via Saludo. When he fled from deputies, they were able to catch him and discovered stolen property in his backpack.

While they were looking for a vehicle that might be missing a car stereo, they approached one car and two men jumped out and ran. They were also apprehended and stolen property was found in their vehicle.

The three, whose names were not released, but were identified as male Hispanic adults, were booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Station. Nagler said several pieces of the recovered property may be tied to other open burglary cases.
